The Person In the Mirror

How well do you know the person in the mirror? I wonder what thoughts and feelings you experienced this morning when you looked at the eyes staring at you from your bathroom wall. Do you feel as if there are layers that separate you from the person you see? Or you feel as if you are one with the image, just as if it is a part of your own self.

I once used to have a regular work life and somehow had no idea how to connect my daily reality to my dreams. However, when I think of it now my dreams seem to have evolved. This is mainly due to developing a much closer relationship with myself, I now understand how important this is for everyone to experience. And if you have been through any pain or illness, you might need a little bit more of that.

In our normal existence we go through tasks and different situations as part of our daily life. We become closely attached to our jobs, relationships and material possessions. One day we wake up and we are a completely different person, sometimes a person who associates themselves with what they are working, but we are actually there to some extent. Still inside, still wanting to experience real joy and happiness. I wonder at what stage it is that we disconnect from the person within. When do we forget about authenticity and the real self? Has the social conditioning having its effect on us throughout our whole life while we are busy playing a role? Maybe it reaches us so deeply at times that we start to forget who we used to be . . .

. . . that pure consciousness wanting to reach the stars.
